JL, DB, LH, & RN stand SR, CK is on SL, seated perhaps. JL faces front and speaks her line while holding DB at arms length. When she is done, DB will take her place and hold LH (next speaker) at arms length. And so on. The folks being held at arms length reach for the speaker, to no avail.
SL: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
CK: This past Wednesday, there was a military coup in Thailand.
DB: That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, —
CK: It was Thailand’s 18th coup since becoming a constitutional monarchy in 1932.
JT: That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government,
CK: Since 1947, these coups have generally occurred without any bloodsahed.
CD: laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
CK: There have been no reports of rioting or protests in Thailand.
SL: Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes;
CK: There has not been a disruption in social services or basic infrastructure in Thailand.
DB: But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism,
CK: There have been no travel restrictions issued related to the coup in Thailand.
JT: it is their right,
CK: Within 6 hours of the coup, military leaders announced that they would install a civilian interim leader.
CD: it is their duty,
CK: Within 24 hours of the coup, military leaders set a date for new democratic elections.
SL: to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
